Maintaining a Successful Real Estate Blog

In our technological times, it is important to focus on the best possible ways to reach potential clients. That technology is the blog. But, blogging is not something that will help reap rewards from the first days of the blog. As a matter of fact, you could blog to your heart’s content for months and never see a boost in real estate sales. The key to a successful blog is in the management of the blog and, yes, the marketing of that blog.
You would think marketing should stop at the physical nature of home selling. But, blogs need to be marketed just as heavily as your real estate properties. When marketing a blog, take into consideration the need for a blog roll. The blog roll is the list of other blogs that may be of use to those who are viewing your blog. Trust me, I understand that as real estate agents, we want to gather leads for our own business and thus the thought of posting links to other blogs by other agents may not feel right, but the viewer that finds your blog is looking for information. And, if you provide them with the best information from all sources, they are more apt to remember where that information came from.
Another huge plus in the world of blogging for real estate is in the picture. The old cliché says a picture is worth a thousand words. In real estate, that picture may be worth a thousand dollars. While your words may describe a community, city, town or specific home; only a picture can truly show the reader what you are talking about.
The final huge point to remember when blogging is information and how you present that information. Blog readers often have very short attention spans and thus the information needs to be presented in small paragraphs and concise points. Blogging on topics other than the homes you have for sale convinces the reader that you are there for them and not just for that next big sale.
Blogging has become more than a luxury in the real estate business, it have become a necessity. The real estate agent with a huge dream to sell, sell, sell will be blogging each and every day and, over time, they will see a rise in sales and a huge following in the blogosphere.
