How to Change Up Your Business to Meet Market Needs

Published by julia | Filed under Miscellaneous, Real Estate, Shout Outs

If you have ever heard the saying, “slow and steady wins the race” you are primed for the changes that need to be made in your real estate business. In a market that is clouded by negative ideas about real estate and mortgages, there will be no instant gains - work will be required to earn every sale and every mortgage approval.

The only thing that is fast in this real estate down turn is adaptation. The real estate agent needs to learn how to quickly change who they are and how they do business in order to keep up with those changes. In times of old, the real estate buyer was willing to put everything on the line to buy that dream home. Today, the approval process for the mortgage alone takes time and that time is something that can last much longer than either the real estate agent or the buyer is used to. This paired with the fact that buyers are trying out their hands at marketing their own properties in order to save more money and thus earn more money on their home sales - makes work even hard for the agent.

The answer to this dilemma is simpler than many real estate agents would like to admit. The change needs to focus on the client rather than the sale. Call this change the full service connection, if you will. The client needs to be given the star treatment in order to feel comfortable with any person associated with the real estate market. You see - with much of the economic troubles being blamed on bad real estate deals - these clients are knowledgeable about what some real estate agents are willing to do in order to secure the sale. They need to be reminded that not ALL real estate agents are that same way.

Full service client support can be self defined. But, the important thing is to give the real estate client options. Show them all the services you can accommodate them with and then offer smaller versions of that package in order to seduce their thrifty side of life. Offer upgrades on a regular basis and give them the option to allow you to serve them more fully if they so choose.

The real estate market has not rebounded as some would have liked, but there are still buyers out there ready to jump into that dream home. The fact is - they are needing to be pampered a bit more in order to trust their real estate agent.
