House with Fleas

Probably the most difficulty that you may encounter to having pets in the house is the reality that they can bring in fleas and so can humans like us. Fleas can jump on you when you are in the lawn and get a free ride into your home where they can multiply like silly. You may be shocked to learn that a full blown flea invasion has taken over your yard, your garage and even inside your house.

Putting a house in a market where pets live has its distinctive set of issues without having to deal with fleas. You may not have the time to notice your pet dogs and cats that they are scratching frequently which is a sure sign of fleas. But you will surely notice when fleas bite you only then, it may be too late.

Fleas in the House

The area that you need to check for fleas first is on your pet. When you comb thru the hair, fleas will run the other side and hide. It is hard to find the fleas without using a comb for your pets.

Flea Combs

Using combs for fleas is easy but you should know how to get rid of any live fleas that you pick up and get trapped in the comb. What you can do:

1.     Begin in the pet’s head, then near the ears and tail, finally under the arms and legs.

2.     Run the comb backwards through the fur.

3.     Even before the fleas have a chance to get away, quickly dip the comb into a bowl of water with a mixture of liquid dish soap.

4.     All fleas that were dipped in the bowl with solution dies.

5.     Continue doing so, for as long as your pet can handle dragging the comb to his or her fur. 

Spotting the Fleas 

For some reason, fleas are attracted to white cloth. Wearing a pair of white socks and walk around inside the house on the area the pets usually roam around, it is much easier to notice them against white background.

Controlling the Fleas  

Manually taking off the fleas using the comb is only a temporary measure to get rid and control the fleas. The best method is to exterminate the fleas that are present in your pet and exterminate all the eggs. There are several products that you can buy in pet store in order to completely get rid of the fleas and keep them back for coming back for several weeks.   

How to Apply the Mixture

It is usually placed in a plastic tube-like liquid just puncture the tube and squeeze the contents at the back of your pet’s head near the base of the neck, part the hair until you can see the skin and apply the treatment in that spot.   

Flea Control for your House 

1.     Use fogger but required for each room

2.     Fumes are flammable so turn off all pilot lights

3.     Remove fish and birds

4.     Refrain from being exposed to breathing the fumes because it’s toxic.

5.     Empty the house for at least two hours or more.

6.     Completely open and thoroughly air out before you let the kids come in 

Flea Control for the Yard

You can also find several product yards available in the market.

1.     Directly attach the product to your hose in the garden and spray completely on affected areas.

2.     Avoid the flowers

3.     Repeat as necessary

Doing all these extra work may seem a lot but if you use flea control products on your pets regularly and treat the house and yard, your flea problem will disappear provided that you do not carry more fleas into the house.
