If you are working and designing on a limited space in your dining area this can be quite challenging. Looking on the other side of it, you may end up having a nice looking space because having a small dining room forces you to concentrate on what you really need.

1.     Think about Scale

Scale may very well be the only most important aspect to think about particularly when you are designing a small spaced dining room. Your furniture in your dining must be scaled appropriately to the area that you have in your home.

2.     Work on a Limited Color Palette

A limited color palette may be a good aspect to start. It is much simpler to start trying light to neutral color as this makes your room brighter and airier. Darker shades or contrasting colors must only be used as accents. By doing such, you are approach is just be safe. If you are sure around colors, a much bold color scheme may work just as well. The objective is not to get too selective and remember to keep things simple.

3.     Play with Mirrors

Did you not know that mirror is a small room’s best friend? It creates and opens up a space like nothing else. Place it on strategically placed mirrors on the wall. Using more than one can make it even more beautiful.

4.     Simple Window Treatment is Better

I have been using the word simple in choosing colors for your wall. I am going to tell you the same manner on your windows. Keep it simple. Putting too much on your window overpower a small space. Using plain panels can do a brilliant job. If you require more privacy, use blinds.

5.     Know the Best Table Shape

The best pick is still a round table for a small dining area. You may want to get one with an extension leaf if you have sufficient space to open it. If not a plain roundtable will do in a limited place.

Also, pedestal bases are perfect since you can entertain extra guests around the table without the legs blocking in the way.

A slender rectangular table may work best in a small dining area. The objective is to allow enough space for guests to move around easily.

6.     Get Armless Chairs

Having chairs with armrest requires more room instead get a slimmer chair, this will only take up minimal physical or visual space as possible.

7.     Check out Transparent Furniture

Transparent pieces like acrylic or glass can make your dining furniture not really there, giving you more visual space in your place. Keep in mind that you still need to measure which guarantees you enough space for people to move around.

8.     A Small Chandelier

A big chandelier obviously requires a bigger area, play around with your designing and pick simpler lines, smaller profile as this creates a larger space. Remember to scale!
