How to Make Your Small Bathroom Larger

Putting up an addition to your home does not resolve the space problem not unless you reside in a custom-built home with a lavish bathroom only then you’d wish your bathroom were larger. Here are a few tips to help you feel less restricted and to make your bathroom look larger.

When you have a small bathroom this can make you feel homely and much more personal but it can also feel too enclosed and a bit gloomy. It all depends on your styling when you design; you can play around with so many decorating techniques that can be stylish and yet still comfortable. You also need to remember that no matter how much you design, a small bath will always be small.

But if you are the type of person who loves to play around with colors, lighting and a bit of visual magic, you can create your small bath into a warm, cozy type of place. A bathroom is one of the important places in your house and should be, all that we have mentioned earlier.

Try some of these designing techniques to make your bath looks larger even if you are working on a limited size.

Choose Tranquil Colors

Soft tone and pale colors create an illusion of a bigger space. But do not exaggerate when I say pale colors just refrain from using strong colors. You can use bright colors in accessories but stick to pastel and neutral shades.

Lighten Up

You can place an extra lighting without taking too much space to brighten up the appearance of your bathroom. Low level type of lighting can be installed into the ceiling, adding wall sconces or countertop lamps will add coziness. If you have the means to splurge a little you can use skylights and bigger windows as these will put much elegance in your bath.

Choose a Fine Pedestal Sink versus a Large Vanity Cabinet

Though, a larger piece gives you a nice storage obviously it takes up more space in a small bath.  Exchanging it with a small pedestal or a wall mounted type sink can be less expensive. This clears up the area and making you more freely to move around. Look for a smaller storage that can replace your cabinet and place all your items all together. You can also get a separate cabinet or closet for the linen.

Take Off Anything That Comes Out

Remove all items or accessories in any part of your bath that will make it look the area much smaller. Even the tiniest item or furniture that comes up where your eye goes, take it off. I know you would need those pieces for their purpose but when you think of how it makes your bathroom bigger without them, find other alternative to store it.
